GrandMA2

ShowRevue receives GrandMA2 cues via MIDI Show Control (MSC). This is the most reliable current path because MA2 sends MSC GO messages natively on cue execution.

What you need

  • a GrandMA2 console or MA2onPC,
  • a MIDI connection to the Mac, either USB MIDI or a DIN MIDI interface,
  • the MIDI device visible in macOS Audio MIDI Setup.

MA2 sends cues to ShowRevue

On the MA2 console:

  • Go to Setup → MIDI.
  • Enable Send MIDI Show Control.
  • Set MSC Device ID to 127.
  • Set MSC Command Format to General (01).
  • Save the settings.

Connect the MIDI path:

  • Connect MA2 MIDI Out or USB MIDI to the Mac.
  • Open Audio MIDI Setup and confirm the device appears.

In ShowRevue:

  • Open Preferences → MIDI.
  • Confirm the MIDI source is listed.

Test it:

  • Fire a cue on MA2.
  • Confirm the cue number and list number appear in ShowRevue.

MA2 MSC only reports cue and list numbers. Cue labels are not available from MA2 in ShowRevue.

ShowRevue sends cues back to MA2

MA2 does not support the OSC playback-control workflow that ShowRevue uses for MA3 and Eos.

That means ShowRevue cannot currently send cue-go commands back to MA2 during playback. Use the cue list as a reference and trigger cues manually on the console.
